lowFront torsion bar sag

Look for: Front independent suspension uses torsion bars which lose tension under sustained heavy load, causing the front to sag and uneven tyre wear.

If you find it: Re-tension the torsion bars to factory ride height, or upgrade to heavy-duty bars from Pedders, Dobinsons, or EFS.

lowVague steering box play

Look for: Recirculating ball steering box develops excessive play over time, leading to a loose, wandering feel on-centre.

If you find it: Adjust the steering box backlash screw carefully, or rebuild the box if worn past adjustment range.

lowWindow regulator failure

Look for: Plastic window regulator clips break with age, causing the window to drop into the door cavity.

If you find it: Replacement regulator (aftermarket fine). Door card off DIY job.

lowWater pump bearing weep

Look for: The water pump bearing wears over time, causing a small coolant weep at the pump weep hole. Early sign is dried coolant residue around the front of the engine.

If you find it: Replace the water pump and thermostat together during a major service. Gear-driven access is straightforward.

lowViscous fan hub failure

Look for: Viscous fan clutch fails to engage at high temps, causing overheating when towing or climbing under load.

If you find it: Replace the viscous fan hub assembly. Flush the radiator at the same time.

Look for: The distributor cap collects moisture and develops carbon tracking, causing misfires and hard wet-starts.
