Overview

Major redesign — coil-spring rear suspension on most models (a Navara first in the ute class) for comfier ride at the cost of payload behaviour under heavy load. Chassis cracking at the rear cab mount was the early-build headline issue and triggered an Australian recall plus reinforcement-plate extension program. Twin-turbo YS23 is efficient but the smaller turbo can fail. Mercedes X-Class was based on this platform.
