Overview
2024 facelift introduced 48V mild hybrid system to the 1GD-FTV. Same Thai-built IMV platform underneath. Real-world economy gains modest; the bigger story is Toyota staying with diesel while rivals (Ranger, Amarok) added V6 alternatives and BYD/GWM brought hybrid/petrol entrants. Long-term reliability of the 48V system in Australian heat and remote-area duty cycles unproven.
